What to Do When Heaven Feels Silent and You’re Praying Through Numbness
Written by Prophet PaulyB
You’ve whispered it before. Maybe not out loud—but in your heart. Maybe even today:
“God… are You even listening?”
I know that ache. I’ve sat in that tension—where your prayers feel like vapor, and silence wraps around your soul like a heavy blanket. You’ve cried. You’ve fasted. You’ve tried to stir your faith. And still… nothing.
You start to wonder:
· “Is something wrong with me?”
· “Did I miss His voice?”
· “Why can’t I feel Him anymore?”
If you’ve been there, you’re not alone—and you’re not broken. In fact, you might be in one of the most transformational seasons of your life.
The Lie in the Silence
One of the greatest lies the enemy whispers in spiritual dry seasons is this:
“God’s not answering because He’s not listening.”
But let me show you something deeper—something I wish someone had told me when I was in that place:
God’s silence is not the same as His absence.
Sometimes silence is how He trains us. Sometimes silence is how He strengthens us. And sometimes, silence is how He rewires us from emotional dependency into covenant maturity.
I want you to pause and really receive this:
You are not being punished. You are being formed.
What’s Actually Happening Right Now
In these quiet seasons, God is not ignoring you—He’s inviting you to trust Him beyond the noise.
You’re learning to:
· Hear Him in stillness.
· Trust Him without instant proof.
· Stay faithful even when your feelings disconnect.
I heard the Lord say this during prayer time recently, and it hit me so hard:
“I’ve heard every whisper from your heart. Even when you feel nothing, I am closer than the breath in your lungs. I’m teaching you to trust My presence beyond feelings.”
That word wasn’t just for me. It was for you.
The Heart Activation: Let’s Reset Together
Right now, I want to guide you into a simple but powerful moment. Don’t rush this. Give yourself 5 minutes.
💥 Prophetic Reset:
1. Sit in stillness. Close your eyes and take a deep breath.
2. Visualize Jesus sitting across from you—not far, not angry, not cold—but near.
3. Whisper these words out loud:
“Lord, I believe You hear me. Even when I feel nothing, You are near. I renounce the lie that I’m alone. I thank You for hearing my heart.”
Now pause. Let peace rise. If you feel a word, a picture, a memory—write it down.
This is not emotional hype. This is realignment. This is you breaking agreement with the lie of abandonment.
Let the Word Anchor You Again
When feelings fade, you need truth that doesn’t.
Here’s the anchor God gave us for this moment:
“This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.” — 1 John 5:14
You don’t have to beg for God’s attention. You already have it.
You don’t have to shout to be heard. You are already known.
